Built on NYC job sites, not in a boardroom
DeLeadNYC exists because too many New York building owners were getting violations they didn't understand and quotes they couldn't trust. Here's how we got here — and how we work.
DeLeadNYC started the way most NYC service companies do: on job sites. Our team spent years inside pre-war walk-ups in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan, watching owners get hit with HPD lead violations they didn't understand — Class C immediately hazardous orders, 21-day correction windows, and paperwork that had to be filed exactly right or the violation stayed open.
Most owners we met had the same complaints: contractors who wouldn't explain the law, quotes that doubled mid-job, and no help with the HPD paperwork after the work was done. We built DeLeadNYC around the opposite — a written scope before work starts, transparent pricing, and support through clearance testing and the Certificate of Correction filing.
We've now inspected, tested, and cleared lead hazards in more than 500 NYC units — from single-family brownstones to large pre-war rental buildings. We're an EPA RRP-certified firm and an NYC-certified MWBE, and every job follows Local Law 31 and the NYC Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Act.
Every estimate starts with what the law actually requires for your building — not what we can upsell. If you only need testing, we tell you.
A lead job isn't done when the paint is gone. It's done when clearance dust wipes pass and HPD has the documentation it needs to close the violation.
We schedule around families, seal work areas properly, and leave apartments clean. Most of our work happens in occupied homes.
